What’s On

You’ll be using equipment such as barbells, dumbells, gymnastic rings, pull-up bars, kettlebells, medicine balls, plyo boxes, all of which will be a part of the prescribed workout of the day, otherwise known as the “WOD”. Each CrossFit class lasts for one hour is led by one of our qualified coaches, the class typically involves a warm-up, a skill or strength segment, the high intensity WOD as well as a cool down. We use an app called SugarWod to record, score/rank our workouts and strength numbers, we use this to encourage competition within the gym but way more importantly we use the app to track your individual progress. The SugarWod app is free and all gym members have access to this.

At Boundary we do CrossFit, CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. CrossFit can be used to accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance. The program works for everyone—people who are just starting out and people who have trained for years.

We use functional movements such as box jumps, burpees, rowing, pushing and pulling  to build strength as well as condition our bodies. The CrossFit method involves carrying out these functional movements at high intensity and keeping the movements constantly varied. The CrossFit program combines cardiovascular endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

Our Blast Classes are a lighter version of CrossFit, they allow you to get into the gym quickly, get warmed up, blast out a fun and fast paced workout based entirely on CrossFit movements. Because this is a fast paced class we do not include some of the more complex or technical movements, but focus more on basic cardio and compound movements for maximum gains. This class is perfect if you are pushed for time but don’t want your training to suffer.

Barbell gives you the chance to really focus on improving your lifting technique. This class allows us slow everything down and really focus on the two Olympic lifts, the snatch and the clean and jerk. We don’t worry too much about speed and intensity, instead we spend time working on your technique and form.

Open gym allows our members to schedule their own workouts within the unique training space we have created. Members can work on improving their technique and form. Med-ball cleans, pushes and jerks, double-unders, and kipping pull-ups are just some of the skills to master. Members can also spend additional time on specialised training programs such competitors training or strength training, designed to compliment our core classes. Open Gym sessions require advance booking in the same way as our other classes. Open Gym available 5:30-8:00, 10:00-14:00 and 15:00-21:00.

We have thought long and hard about the most effective way to introduce you to the world of CrossFit, our CrossFit Foundations course is truly for anyone. No matter what your sports background (or lack of one) or your fitness level, this is one of the best (and most fun) ways to get you confident and involved in CrossFit classes.       

 

Our experienced personal trainers will work with you to design a program that caters for your exact needs. This will focus on areas such as improving your strength, body composition, cardiovascular fitness, speed, power, balance, co-ordination, confidence and general feel good factor. Other factors which need to be monitored for optimal results are recovery, nutrition, lifestyle, sleep and stress management. Understanding how to make the right lifestyle choices outside of the gym makes all the difference. We want to make achieving your goals fun and sustainable as part of the right lifestyle.
